You're So Pretty and You're So Dead...

It has been so, so long since I've updated this blog. I was consumed with another one that is sort of necessary so that I may get paid in the future. Last I really left off, was after that first Love Cats show. A brief update of my life looks like this:

After that show, I went to work for a week and was somehow cast, super last-minute as a lead role for Mindless Self Indulgence's "Never Wanted To Dance" video. Two of the dancers had backed out last minute and, I looked the part. As did another girl, Jenny. Of course, we had no idea what we'd be doing, and weren't even informed we had lead roles until ten pm the night before.

The next day we showed up at about 3 in the afternoon and were told the entire concept of the video, and what we needed to do. Awesome? Awesome. Except for one thing. It involved a lot of dancing and Jenny wasn't really a "dancer", so I had an hour to come up with a dance routine that fit our "role", to teach it to her, and then we had to get into wardrobe (which were amazing poodle skirts and pink jackets, and I wore heels - BAD idea). It actually went off REALLY well considering we had no time or warning.

However, the next day I was so sore I couldnt move. I hadn't danced like that in a long, long time.

So I called out of work and was promptly fired. Awesome? Not so awesome.

A few days later was The Love Cats Part Deux. This time, I went with two of the same girls from the previous show, plus my friend Kristin who is actually a friend of the Way family or something over the last few years and knows Frank. I always find it very awkward to stand around while someone I know is having a "let's play catch up" conversation with someone "famous" while everyone stares on with their creepy jealous faces. But I maintain that Frank Iero is one of the sweetest dudes ever.

Also, I'm a little bit in love with DJ Values. I'd just like to let that be known.

Since then, I haven't been up to a whole hell of a lot. It is so hard to find a job in NYC in the middle of summer, though. I hate it to ridiculous degrees and wish I'd moved to New York years sooner so I could have just worked out a job in the music profession like I really wanted. Instead of bitchwork in retail so I can still have the time to randomly follow tours.

Which reminds me. In less than a week, Warped is rolling through. My friend is on it, and desperate for the company for as many days as possible. She wants me to go and is only charging me some of my world famous funfetti cupcakes. There's a perfect four day window of shows. Starting in Jersey, then Long Island, PA, and back to Jersey. This is my ideal trip. However, realistically I may only make it for either the first jersey show and long island, or just long island. And by the way? I hate the long island venue. We'll see.

Hopefully this week I'll also have a job. Where? At a sex shop. My life rules.

Over and out.
